The short version: enjoy the photographs, ask before using them, and everything you buy comes with the details in writing first.
This website belongs to Isla Elston, a photographer based in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. By using it, you agree to these terms. They sit alongside the privacy notice, which explains how your personal information is looked after.
The photographs
Every photograph and piece of writing on this site is the work of Isla Elston and protected by copyright. You're welcome to look, share links to pages, and share posts from Isla's own social media. Please don't download, copy, edit or use any photograph anywhere else (including social media, websites, print or AI training) without written permission. Using my images explains how to ask.
Licences
If you'd like to use a photograph, it's licensed for a specific use, place and time. What you may do is set out in the licence agreement you receive, which you accept before the licence starts. The licence begins once it's paid for in full.
Prints
Prices, sizes and paper are shown before you order, and you'll receive an invoice to pay. Prints are made to order once payment is received; the expected delivery time is given with your order. If a print arrives damaged or isn't right, get in touch within 14 days with a photo of the problem and it will be replaced or refunded. Colours can look slightly different on screens and paper.
Private client galleries
A private gallery is shared with you only. Photos you're allowed to download are for your own personal use, unless something else was agreed in writing. Please don't share the link or password publicly. Galleries close on the date shown on them.
Payments
Prices are in South African rand. Online payments are handled by the payment provider shown at checkout; card details never reach this website. Your rights under the Consumer Protection Act are not affected by anything here.
Messages and reviews
Please keep messages and reviews honest and polite. A review you send may be shown on the site with your first name, after it has been checked; you can ask for it to be removed at any time.
Links and availability
Links to other websites are there to help, but those sites aren't controlled from here. The site is looked after carefully, but it may sometimes be unavailable, and the information on it is given in good faith without guarantees.
The law that applies
These terms are governed by the law of South Africa. If anything here can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
