Natures Best Clean-up Crew

A trip I’ve been dreaming of for YEARS finally became a reality.

I have to be honest — vultures were never birds I thought much about.

That all changed when I had the opportunity to see them up close and spend time observing their behaviour in the wild. There was something about watching these incredible birds that sparked a curiosity in me, especially when it came to the magnificent Bearded Vulture.

The more I watched, the more I wanted to learn. And the more I learnt, the more I fell in love with these remarkable creatures.

Sadly, vultures face an uncertain future. Many species are threatened by human activities, with poisoning — both intentional and accidental — being one of the biggest dangers they face. These birds play an incredibly important role in our ecosystems, yet they remain so misunderstood and underappreciated.

What started as a long-awaited trip quickly became something much more meaningful: a newfound appreciation for these extraordinary birds and a desire to understand them better.

Sometimes, all it takes is seeing something for yourself to completely change the way you look at it.
